    A Holiday To Cape Town, & Cape of Good Hope South Africa

    South Africa is both progressive and stagnant across the country; in some towns and cities you will find a mix of undeveloped and developed properties and areas, and you just have to go with it and look beyond the superficial and look at the people, the culture and how they go about their daily lives making the best of what they have.

    Cape Town has a lot to offer; 20 years after South Africa’s first democratic elections the township has improved greatly with communities working together with local farms and bringing produce together; business is booming for them with the Harvests of Hope, both in Cape Town and the Cape Flats.

    By the sea around the end of Cape Peninsula with places like Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, you can experience some truly amazing sea views, and high sea cliffs with a great view below for the brave. Get to know the local wildlife and plants in these areas, as there are lots of different species of mammals, and species of indigenous plants around the cliffs; be sure not to feed the local wildlife, as baboons may steal your food or wallet/purse if you’re not paying close enough attention. Also to mention is that the Cape has a reputation for storms and unforgiving weather, so check the weather before you go exploring the cape.

    Try to avoid going to the most known and travelled spots, get a reputable tour guide to take you to less travelled places around Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula; jump in and explore safely, and have fun.

    Perhaps the best place to go this winter would be to South Africa for an adventure of a life time; there are lots of fun places to explore and lots of interesting things to lean and enjoy. Where you go and what you do depends on your budget and preferences.

    Let’s offer some suggestions:

    Walking Safari Adventure through Swaziland or St Lucia: If your into hiking and walking, a good place to start is down to St Lucia; there are a series of guest houses, hotels and holiday apartments there, with varying room/apartment rates, depending on the time of year you’re going to be travelling, and also the type of room for your stay. Some of the tour guides in the area are Shakabarker Tours, who offer tours through the wetlands; and Heritage Tours and Safaris for guided walking tours from St Lucia to Tzaneen. There is also a Ski Boat club (pub and restaurant), about 20 – 30 minutes’ walk around the wetlands for those looking to see the beach and relax by the sea.

    Adventure Holiday around Victoria Falls: There are more than enough places to stay in Victoria falls, and the views to match are truly spectacular; wherever you choose to stay.

    South of the colonial city is the Victoria Falls National Park; there are tours available with various packages for those seeking to see the local wildlife around the park. To the north of the city there is the Zambezi nature park, a golf course, various safari lodges, a caravan park, cruise terminals for cruise tours, and a spectacular view of the falls.

    What you do now is up to you; possibilities are endless.

    Ok so you have time off work, and undecided what to do with your free time; you can’t decide if you should stay at home on the sofa and do nothing, or go abroad by the beach and do the same thing. Either way you have the time to relax and clear your mind without worrying about the norm; you don’t want to go on any adventures, or do anything but chill, so might as well make the best of it whatever your going to do.

    By staying at home you can get some of the things done you probably did not have time to do when you were busy working, and catch up with the T.V shows you may have been missing. If you’re view is great outside your window, just pull a comfortable chair closer to that view and just chill; soak in the beauty of that view, and day dream about whatever you want; just as long as it’s not about work and woes. If you have a balcony or outside area and the weather is great, sit outside and just chill. Clear your mind and sip your favourite drink, read the paper, or do a crossword; whatever you’re into.

    If your abroad and down by the beach just chilling, you have the amazing sea views and sea air to take in; just close your eyes and think about nothing, or even go to sleep if you want. Perhaps take a walk up and down the beach and soak in the sun. If you just want to stay in your hotel room however, and sit on the balcony, then do that, but make sure you order all the nice things on the hotel menu and indulge yourself and let go of those worries.

    Often when we go abroad we do so for the weather; the climate, the heat and to feel the sun on our skin. Sometimes when on holiday the weather is not always forgiving it really dampens your spirits and your stuck indoors unable to venture out to explore and go on the adventure you planned.

    It does not really matter where you go; to a local resort or to a resort abroad, even a tent, chalet, or whatever. You take a chance with the weather and just go for the holiday you planned, no matter if glorious sunshine, grey skies, wet and windy or cool and breezy.

    Just make the most of your holiday no matter the weather; if you can’t go out stay inside and order all the nice things on the menu and over indulge; tease your loved ones and relish that free time you will have away from the norm. You can even take a chance and dash over to the local cafe or restaurant and spend time gazing at the scenery outside; maybe even buy an umbrella if it’s just rain and go for a short walk by the sea, or anywhere and soak in the ambience.

    If your going on holiday, always take somebody with you, whether it be a partner, friends, or family; it’s so much better when you have company and it will help with the bad weather too if it happens when your away on holiday.

    If you are lucky enough to ever get the opportunity to go on an African Safari holiday then you should grab it with both hands. People are not over reacting when they say it’s a once in a life time experience.

    You can expect to see some of the world’s most beautiful animals and often a few endangered species too. Below I have come up with a few fun facts about some of the animals that you will come across whilst on your safari holiday.

    Elephants – These mammals are said to be Africans smartest. They have an amazing memory and huge learning ability. They often take on the responsibility for looking after another elephants young and also do get sad and mourn the loss of a loved one.

    Lions – Lions do not only live in Africa but that you can also they can also be seen in parts of India. Quite a while back you could also expect to find them in parts of South East of Europe.
