Just where the Cape Peninsula curves to the east there is a small beach-side suburb of Cape Town, which is known for it’s white sandy beaches and breath taking views, more-so for it’s strong winds and great waves which attract hundreds or thousands of surfers each year.
Muizenberg has a rich history, with a couple of main attractions to visit, such as the site of the 1795 battle, and the Rhodes Cottage Museum. Though more commonly known as “Surfers Corner” where the local community is centred around; it is considered to be the birthplace of surfing.
The downside to Muizenberg is that it quiet most of the time and most of the tourists will be surfers, this however can be considered a plus for the romantics looking for a quiet get away without the crowds filling up the beaches.
If you love sea views and don’t mind varying windy weather, as well as a great place to enjoy peace and quiet then Muizenberg is certainly worth considering as a place to go for a holiday.
